HEMATOLOGY LABORATORY
In our hematology laboratory you can assess
Complete Blood Count (CBC),
with differential leukocytes (WBC), sedimentation
of erythrocytes (RBC),
reticulocytes test.
The entire assessment process is being performed
on the following automatic analyzers (counters):
|
|

|
|
Cell Dyn 1800 (Abbott)
• Complete blood count with differential WBC are
assessed on analyzer CD1800. Analyzer can differentiate leucocytes into three
groups: granulocytes, lymphocytes and MID (monocytes, eusinophils, basophils).
Cell Dyn 3700 (Abbott)
• Complete blood count with differential WBC is
assessed on CD3700 also, but the analyzer can differentiate leucocytes into five
groups: neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils.
• Also, the analyzer performs assessments of reticulocytes and
veterinary panel (CBC with differential WBC).
ADVIA 120 hematology analyst (ADVIA)
•
On this analyzer it is also possible to perform Complete Blood Count
with differential WBC and reticulocytes separately.
• If you are interested only
in some of the parameters it is possible to obtain these results
individually.
In cases of emergency
the results
can be acquired in record time!!!

Hematology analyzers count the number of
erythrocytes,
hemoglobin concentration and mean cell volume of RBC, number of WBC,
number of platelets, and calculates the following parameters:
hematocrit, MCH, MCHC.
- RBC - red blood cell - erythrocytes
- HGB - hemoglobin (structure protein of
RBC, which contains iron and transports oxygen into tissues)
- MCV - mean cell volume RBC
- WBC - white blood cells - leucocytes
- PLT - platelets (blood plates)
- HCT - hematocrit (ratio between volume
of RBC and full blood volume in sample)
- MCH - mean cell hemoglobin content
- MCHC - mean cell hemoglobin
concentration

SEDIMENTATION OF
ERYTHROCYTES
Sedimentation of erythrocytes may indicate the
existence of an inflammatory process in organism.
It is assessed on the automatic analyzer BD Sedi-15
(Beckton Dickinson).

COAGULATION TESTS
Coagulation tests are assessed on the automatic coagulometer ACL-7000 (IL)
and represent necessary parameters for every surgical operation or
procedure.
Coagulation parameters scope:
- Prothrombin
Time (PT)
- aPTT
- Fibrinogen
- D-Dimer
|
|

|
 |
|
• Also, there is
a possibility to test coagulation factors and bleeding on the
same analyzer.
• The analysis D-Dimer has found a large use in
diagnostics of thrombosis and monitoring of thrombolitic therapy.
Increased D-Dimer values occur in clinical conditions such as
deep vein thrombosis, lung embolism and disseminated inter-vascular
coagulation.
•
Capillary Prothrombin Time (from finger tip) is assessed at our
object in Vracar, Njegoseva street No. 5, from 7 to 10 a.m. on workdays
and Saturday, and the result is obtained in five minutes.
